Former Cherokee High star John Lovett won’t be the only former South Jersey High School running back returning closer to home in 2021.
Following Lovett’s recent announcement that he’s transferring from Baylor to Penn State, Rancocas Valley High graduate Iverson Clement announced on his Twitter Friday that he will be transferring from the University of Florida to Temple University. Clement, who spent two-plus seasons in Gainesville, will hope for more playing time in Philadelphia after failing to get much of a chance in the Southeastern Conference.

A former 4-star recruit out of Mount Holly, Clement was rated as the No. 7 player in New Jersey while being classified as an athlete after seeing time at multiple positions in high school. He mainly contributed at RV at the running back position, totaling 3,404 yards and 46 touchdowns during his career in Burlington County.
Clement mainly contributed for the Gators on special teams, but also rushed for 94 yards during his time there.
Temple struggled in 2020, playing only seven games and seeing one cancelled due to COVID-19. The Owls finished the season 1-6, their only win coming against South Florida, a 39-37 triumph at Lincoln Financial Field in October.
Clement’s move to Temple will see him join former St. Augustine and Timber Creek tailback Kyle Dobbins in the running back corps. Temple will be seeking a spark at RB after only rushing for 1,002 combined yards as a team through its seven games.
