Staff Report

Delsea Regional High senior left fielder Alex Grippo is finally getting his chance to be a starter, and he’s taking advantage of the opportunity. He’s hitting .282 with seven RBIs and seven runs, and had helped the Crusaders jump out to a 13-0 record and a top-10 ranking in the state. He’s also a standout in football, rushing for more than 800 yards in his career and also finishing with more than 150 career tackles, and in wrestling he finished fourth in Region 8 this winter and earned a trip to the NJSIAA state championships at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

Staff Writer Dave O’Sullivan caught up with Grippo after Delsea’s comeback win over Shawnee in the recent Downbeach Coaches vs. Cancer Classic in Margate.
