Editor’s Note: This school year, the South Jersey Glory Days staff will be having some fun with some of the athletes we cover in the form of a new feature called “5 Questions.” The goal is to highlight some of the upperclassmen who don’t normally get a lot of press coverage and give them a chance to let our fans get to know them — at least, briefly.
In this edition, Correspondent Brian Tortella spoke to Gateway High senior field hockey center midfielder Bella Fini six games into her final high school season.
Fini has been a four-year starter for the Gators and recently hit 50 career goals.
On Saturday morning, she had a hat trick in the Gators’ 9-1 victory over Highland Regional to help Gateway improve to 5-1 on the season.
“She’s a pretty dynamic player,” coach Amy Ambrosius said. “Obviously, very offensive minded. She’s really helping the team by always looking to pass the ball and looking to get it back. She’s created a lot of offense for us. She’s a great kid. She’s a three-sport athlete here at Gateway. She’s a tough kid and she’s a coach’s dream, for sure.”
Question: You get a free trip to anywhere in the world. Where are you going?
Answer: If I could go anywhere for free I would probably go to Italy, or maybe Bora Bora.
Q: Would you rather live where it always snows or where it’s always above 90 degrees?
A: I would want to live somewhere hot rather than cold.
Q: Who on your team thinks they are the best singer on road trips?
A: Me, Sofia Lezotte, Adrianna Endt and Lauren Murphy usually all harmonize.
Q: What person has made a big impact on your life? How?
A: My mom, for sure, she has done everything for me, supports everything I do, and just is the best.
Q: If you were running for president, who would your running mate be?
A: My running mate for president would definitely have to be my sister, Angie.
