Staff Report
The Holy Cross Prep softball team made a postseason run to the Non-Public B South championship game this year, and a big reason for the Lancers’ success was the play of senior left fielder Zaynah Farole and senior pitcher Jamie Dunn. Farole batted .310 this season with 14 RBIs and six stolen bases, while Dunn hit .270 with 11 RBIs and was solid inside the circle, striking out 167 batters in 136 2/3 innings and allowing just 13 walks.
Dunn, at Mt. Laurel resident, had nearly 100 hits for her career and batted .403 while scoring 83 runs and knocking in 45, while as a pitcher she finished with 529 strikeouts and just 51 walks in 476 innings of work. Farole, from Delanco, had 56 hits, 40 RBIs, 30 runs scored and 16 stolen bases during her career.
South Jersey Glory Days Staff Writer Dave O’Sullivan caught up with the duo after the Lancers’ victory over Holy Spirit in the sectional semifinals to get to know them a little bit.
Check our our 5 QUESTIONS with Zaynah Farole and Jamie Dunn of Holy Cross:

QUESTION: How did you first get into softball?
DUNN: I was in first grade and my best friend was playing, so I decided to play. She actually didn’t play the next year but I stuck with it.
FAROLE: My brother played baseball and I played in tee-ball and just kept going.
QUESTION: What is the best thing about Holy Cross Prep?
DUNN: It was a great experience, I loved the small-school feel of it.
FAROLE: It’s small, you know everyone and it’s never like you don’t know a face.
QUESTION: Who was your celebrity crush in middle school?
DUNN: I don’t know if I had one, honestly!
FAROLE: I know I did, (country music star) Morgan Wallen!

QUESTION: Do you think you’ll stay in South Jersey after you get out of college? If not, where do you think you’ll end up?
DUNN: I’m not sure, I’ll be out at Notre Dame next year, so I’ll be in the Midwest. I guess we’ll see where life takes me after that.
FAROLE: I’m going to Western Kentucky University, so probably somewhere in the South. Probably not South Jersey.
QUESTION: What do you think you’ll miss most about your time in high school?
DUNN: This team, specifically. The girls have been great and I’ve made some great friendships, so that’s going to be tough to leave, for sure.
FAROLE: The friendships, the routine. It’s going to be weird not seeing the same people every day.
