South Jersey Glory Days Staff Writer Dave O’Sullivan caught up with the pair after a midseason win over Atlantic Tech to get to know a little more about them. Check out our 5 QUESTIONS feature with Oakcrest seniors Rebecca Martin and Arianna Massey:

QUESTION: What is your favorite softball memory?

Martin: Has to be my freshman year because everything was new to me and I had a lot of mentors on the team.

Massey: Probably the goofy moments — (one time) she and I were racing and I busted my butt and fell on my face.

QUESTION: What team has been the hardest for you to beat during your career?

Martin: I’d say the hardest team we ever faced was Barnegat, freshman year in the state playoffs. They really took it to us. But there are a couple of teams we always have a good fight against.

Massey: I think it was this year against Vineland. They are a really strong team, really good. I feel like we were ready, but at the same time we weren’t.

One of the top hitters for Oakcrest the past couple of years, Arianna Martin finished her career with a .302 batting average that included 63 runs scored and 45 RBIs.

QUESTION: What is the most fun thing about bus rides to away games?

Martin: Listening to music and locking in with some snacks.

Massey: Yeah, definitely the snacks.

QUESTION: If were starting a girl band, which teammate would be your lead singer?

Martin: Probably (freshman) Briella Johnson.

Massey: (Sophomore) Delaney Mason. She’s loud.

QUESTION: What are you looking forward to most after graduation?

Martin: I’m looking forward to doing something new and getting out of my comfort zone again. I plan to go to school for athletic training at Stockton University.

Massey: Just a fresh start, like what she said, just getting out and doing new things. I’m going to Rowan to study biology.
