The argument about the best second baseman in the Cape-Atlantic League in 2024 probably starts and ends with Morgan Harrell-Alvarez.
Vineland went 26-3, won the South Jersey Group 4 championship and made it all the way to the state final with Harrell-Alvarez leading the way. She hit .443 with a team-high 43 runs scored while also leading the Fighting Clan with 30 stolen bases, seven more than anybody else on the squad.
For her career, Morgan tallied more than 100 hits and more than 100 runs scored, batted .469 and added four home runs, eight triples, 52 stolen bases, 44 walks and 45 RBIs. She also was one of the best defensive players, at any position, in the CAL.
