In a highly anticipated clash of undefeated rivals, Friday night’s showdown off Exit 22 on Route 295 has all the makings of another classic.
West Deptford (4-0, 2-0 in West Jersey Football League Constitution)hosts longtime rival Haddonfield (4-0, 2-0 in WJFL Constitution) at 7 p.m. in The Stucco Pros Game of the Week —an old-school Colonial Conference matchup with first place in the division on the line.
There’s no shortage of history when these two programs meet, and this game will be even more pivotal in the Group 2 power-point standings.
Under longtime coach Frank DeLano, Haddonfield finished 10-3 in 2025, winning the South Jersey Group 2 title with a 28-7 triumph over Delran. The Bulldawgs fell in the state semifinal to eventual state champion Camden. The Haddons have scored at least 30 points in three of their four games thus far in 2026, with their closest victory coming 21-13 over Delran last week.
Under the direction of coach John Emel, West Deptford had one of its best seasons in recent memory with a 9-2 campaign last fall. The Eagles’ only regular-season loss came to Haddonfield, 29-14, on Oct. 3 — nearly a year ago. The Eagles were seemingly on their way to a rematch with Haddonfield in the sectional final after building a 20-7 lead over Delran in the South Jersey Group 2 semifinal, but they were outscored 21-0 in the second half and fell, 28-20. Opposing offenses haven’t had much luck against Emel’s Eagles this fall as they’ve held opponents to seven or fewer points in all four games.
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Zamir Davis, Running Back, West Deptford:
The senior halfback is averaging 11 yards per attempt with a team-high 511 yards on 46 touches out of the backfield for the Eagles. He’s reached the end zone six times. Defensively, he has a team-high three interceptions.
James Farrell, Quarterback, Haddonfield:
Farrell has thrown for eight touchdowns to only two interceptions through the Haddons’ first four games. The junior has also proven to be valuable on the ground with 221 rushing yards and four scores.
Mike and Dan Keenan, Wide Receiver/Defensive Back, Haddonfield:
The brotherly duo has led the Bulldawgs’ attack through the air, with Mike recording a team-high six receptions for 96 yards and three touchdowns and Dan having three receptions for 105 yards and two scores this fall. On the defensive side of the ball, Mike (3) and Dan (1) have combined for four interceptions.
Cole Paskiewicz, Running Back, West Deptford:
West Deptford’s daunting rushing attack will be a key factor in the Eagles’ success on Friday night and Paskiewicz will need to have a big game. The senior has 47 attempts for 397 yards and six touchdowns on the ground, and four receptions for 50 yards and a score through the air. He’s also coming off one of his best defensive performances of the season with three tackles and an interception in a 22-7 triumph over Paul VI last week.
Lino Tete, Running Back, Haddonfield:
Only a sophomore, Tete has burst onto the scene as an instant contributor for the Haddons this fall. The featured member of the Bulldawgs’ rushing attack, he has 42 attempts for a team-high 358 yards and four touchdowns — good for 8.5 yards per attempt.

Colton Sabo, Linebacker, West Deptford:
After having a breakout season in 2025, Sabo is enjoying his best season yet so far during his senior campaign. The 6’3″ outside linebacker has a team-high 35 tackles, six coming for loss.
Al Dayrell, Defensive End, West Deptford:
No one is a threat to the opposing quarterback more than Dayrell, who has a team-high 4.5 sacks for the Eagles. The senior also has a team-leading 13 tackles for loss.
What they’re saying:
“We don’t make too much more of it than it really is. This is just week five. There aren’t any rings given out for winning this one. This is a part of the journey. Obviously, it’s always a special time to play a really good team that’s really well coached. I have a ton of respect for what West Deptford has done over the years and the current football team they have.
“We never get caught up until it’s 10 o’clock on Friday night. Is it going to be a fun environment? Sure. It gives you an old Colonial Conference feel. It feels good and homey. It’s the way it’s intended to be played. This is what’s right about high school football. We’re lucky to still be a part (of the rivalry).” —- Haddonfield coach Frank DeLano
“Just excited to play a quality program at home. It’s a division game and after getting moved to a tougher division we want to play well in these games, and show improvement every week.” —- West Deptford coach John Emel
